Valentine’s Day and not a single card on the mat. I laced up my trainers and headed out before the quiet of the flat could settle too heavy. Victoria Park stretched out under a pale February sky, the paths mostly empty except for a few dog walkers and the odd cyclist. I took the long way, past the lake and through the avenues of bare trees, letting the cold air bite at my cheeks and clear the usual work chatter from my head. My breath came steady, legs moving with that easy rhythm I only find when no one is watching. Blonde hair tied back, no makeup, just me and the frost on the grass.
Halfway round, the daydream started the way it always does. I pictured him waiting at the end of the path. Tall, dark hair falling a little over his forehead, that quiet strength in the way he stands. He would smile when he saw me, the kind that makes my stomach flutter before I even reach him. In my mind we walked home together, his hand warm around mine, the city noise fading as we climbed the stairs to my place. I would kick off my trainers and he would kneel without being asked, those strong hands already reaching for my feet.
The thought of it slowed my pace. I could almost feel the pressure of his thumbs working along the arch, slow and sure, easing every tight spot left from the week. His fingers would slide higher, tracing the curve of my calf, the soft skin behind my knee. In the fantasy the room is warm, the light low, and I am still in my running kit, cheeks flushed from the cold outside. He looks up at me with that steady gaze that says he knows exactly how to keep me in check, and something inside me loosens.
I imagined him rising then, lifting me easily onto the sofa, his mouth finding the sensitive place just below my ear. The kiss would start gentle, almost teasing, before deepening until my whole body arched toward him. His hands, still warm from the massage, would slip under the hem of my top, palms spreading heat across my skin. Every touch felt deliberate, as if he already knew the map of me. I could feel the slow build, the way my breath would catch when his fingers brushed the edge of my sports bra, the quiet sound I would make when he finally pushed it aside.
The park path blurred a little as the scene unfolded further. In my head we moved to the bedroom, the sheets cool against my back while his weight settled over me. He would take his time, kissing down the line of my throat, across the soft rise of my breasts, lingering until I was restless beneath him. When he finally settled between my thighs the sensation was almost too much, that perfect stretch and fullness that makes my toes curl. I pictured the way he would move, steady and deep, one hand cradling my face so I could not look away. The other would find that sensitive spot and circle it with the same patient care he had shown my feet earlier.
Pleasure rolled through the fantasy in slow waves. I could feel the heat gathering low in my belly, the way my legs would tighten around him, the soft gasps that turned into something hungrier. He would murmur against my skin, telling me I was his, that he had me, and the words alone would push me closer. When the release came it was bright and complete, flooding every nerve until I was trembling and soft in his arms. Afterward he would stay close, still inside me, pressing gentle kisses to my forehead while his hand stroked slow circles on my back.
I finished the loop of the park with my pulse a little quicker than the run alone could explain. The cold air felt sharper now, almost welcome against the warmth that had risen under my clothes. Back home I stood in the hallway for a moment, trainers still on, and let the last of the daydream settle. Perhaps it is silly to keep hoping for someone who can be both rough enough to leave me aching and tender enough to massage my feet afterward. Yet the longing feels honest. One day he will appear, tall and dark and certain, and until then these quiet walks will have to carry the weight of everything I still want.
