Final Push, 21/08/2026

The last full day before the weekend always carries that particular charge, and today was no different. I kept the team sharp from the moment the screens lit up, pushing the under-25s harder than usual on the numbers and the deadlines. My competitive streak sat just under the surface, quiet but steady, the kind that makes me straighten my shoulders and speak a little firmer than I mean to. They find me harsh, I know they do, and I let them. The stern front is easier than explaining the soft parts I keep folded away. By late afternoon the reports looked clean and the floor had that satisfied hush that only comes after a proper push. I left the bank with my bag over one shoulder and the city air already tasting like Friday.

The walk home through Hackney felt lighter than the day deserved. I was barefoot in spirit, the concrete under my trainers somehow softer, my mind already drifting ahead to the night. A quick shower, a change into something that still felt like me, and then out again. The girls had messaged about meeting later, nothing fixed, just the usual open invitation that always seems to lead somewhere interesting. I could already picture the low lights, the music pressing against my skin, the easy laughter that loosens everything inside me.

And then the thought arrived, the one that always does when the weekend opens up. Somewhere in that crowd there might be him. Tall, dark-haired, the kind of handsome that makes my breath catch without permission. I let myself imagine the moment our eyes meet across a packed room, the slow smile, the first brush of his hand against the small of my back as he leans in to speak. The air between us would tighten, warm and electric, and I would feel that familiar flutter low in my stomach, the quiet promise of something high-energy and complete.

In my mind we leave early, the city lights blurring past the cab window while his fingers trace slow circles on my knee. Back at mine the door closes and the kissing starts deep and unhurried, the kind that tastes of want and makes my knees soft. His hands would be sure, guiding me, lifting me, turning me until I am exactly where he wants. I can almost feel the solid weight of him, the heat of his skin against mine, the way my body would open and answer without hesitation. His mouth would travel lower, patient and thorough, drawing out every soft sound I try to keep quiet, until the pleasure builds in long, rolling waves that leave me trembling and open and completely given over. He would take me properly then, high-energy and sure, the kind of rhythm that steals the breath and fills every empty space inside me, until the release crashes through in bright, shaking pulses that leave my limbs heavy and my heart racing against his.

Afterwards there would be the quiet part, the part I always crave most. Soft kisses along my shoulder, the steady press of his chest against my back, the gentle weight of his arm holding me while the afterglow settles warm and slow. Maybe even the foot massage I keep dreaming about, thumbs pressing just right until I melt completely. I know it is only imagination for now, but the hope sits sweet and stubborn in my chest. One night like that, with the right stranger who feels like more than a stranger, and everything might shift.

I am already choosing the top I will wear, already smiling at the thought of telling the girls tomorrow if the night delivers even half of what is turning over in my mind. The weekend is open and the city is waiting, and somewhere out there the high-energy stranger who might finally stay is getting ready too.

I’m Dingo, 31, Basildon born, Hackney based, and I still go home for Sunday roast when I can get away with it. By day I supervise a team at a bank in the city, all stern face and sharp edges. Off the clock I’m the opposite, a bit sweary, a bit soft, and far too honest once I’ve had a drink and a story worth telling.
