Craving Soft Touches At Night

Some nights after a proper long stretch at the bank I kick the front door shut with my heel and the whole day just slides off me like cheap tights on a summer commute. The team of under-twenty-fives have been at it again, the girls with their little power plays and the lads with those sideways looks I pretend not to notice, and by the time I am back in Hackney with my hair still pulled back and the last of the stern supervisor face melting away I am ready for something entirely different. Something that has nothing to do with targets or spreadsheets or telling someone to stop scrolling on their phone during a briefing. I want hands. Proper strong ones. The kind that know the difference between holding on and holding back.

It is not even complicated, not really. I drop the bag, peel off the work trousers that have been gripping my hips since half eight, and pull on the softest onesie I own, the grey one with the little hole near the pocket that I keep meaning to sew up and never do. Bare feet on the laminate, kettle on, and already my mind is somewhere else. Somewhere warmer. I can feel it starting low, that quiet pull that has nothing to do with being lonely and everything to do with knowing exactly what my body has been waiting for all day. The stern front stays at the office. At home I am just me, soft around the edges, a bit cheeky, and properly ready to be looked after in the best possible way.

Picture it. Tall. Dark hair that falls just right when he leans in. Hands that could steady a whole room yet still manage to be gentle when they slide under the hem of whatever I am wearing. He does not ask permission with words. He just reads the way my breath changes and moves closer. First it is the kiss. Always the kiss. A proper one, the sort that starts slow enough to make me smile against his mouth and then deepens until my knees forget they have a job to do. His tongue meets mine like it already knows the map, and I make that small sound in the back of my throat that I only ever let out when it is this good. Sarcasm takes a back seat for a minute because there is nothing funny about how quickly heat spreads down my spine. It is pure and simple and it makes every long meeting and every late train feel worth it.

Those hands travel. They find the curve of my waist and pull me in so there is no polite space left between us. Rough when I need it, fingers pressing just firm enough to remind me he is stronger, then softening to stroke along my side like he is learning the shape of me for the first time even if it is the tenth. I like being moved. Properly moved. Turned, lifted, pressed against the wall or the back of the sofa with that quiet confidence that says he has me and he is not letting go until we are both shaking. The onesie ends up somewhere on the floor and I do not miss it. Skin on skin is better. His mouth finds the spot just below my ear and the soft scrape of stubble sends a shiver straight through me that makes me laugh under my breath because it is ridiculous how fast my body answers.

There is nothing shy once the spark catches. I have never been one for pretending otherwise, not when the door is locked and the only audience is the two of us. His hands slide lower, exploring with that perfect mix of hunger and care, and I arch into the touch because it feels right. Warm palms, confident fingers, tracing patterns that leave little trails of heat. When his mouth follows, slow and deliberate, the world narrows to the sound of my own breathing and the quiet praise he murmurs against my skin. It is playful at first. A teasing brush of lips that makes me roll my eyes and reach for his hair. Then it deepens. The kind of attention that has me gripping the cushions and forgetting every email I sent that afternoon. Pleasure builds in waves, each one a little higher, and I let myself ride them without worrying about looking composed. Soft gasps turn into something louder and I do not care. This is the part where the competitive edge I wear at work dissolves into pure wanting.

Sometimes it is faster. A shared look across a crowded bar that turns into the two of us tumbling through my front door with jackets half off and laughter spilling between kisses. He backs me toward the bedroom like he already knows the layout, and I let him because the alternative is standing there pretending I am not already aching for it. Clothes become a distant memory. Strong hands lift me, settle me exactly where he wants, and the first deep press of his body against mine steals whatever clever remark I had ready. It is high energy then. The sort of rhythm that has the headboard complaining and my legs wrapped tight around him. I love the way he can be rough without ever crossing into careless. A firm grip on my hip, a shift of angle that makes stars burst behind my eyelids, the low sound he makes when I meet him halfway. Sweat gathers between us and the air smells of clean skin and whatever cologne he is wearing, something dark and warm that clings to the pillow afterwards.

Oral is never an afterthought. It is its own whole conversation. The way he settles between my thighs like he has all night and nowhere better to be, slow strokes of his tongue that start gentle and build until I am trembling. I taste myself on his mouth when he rises to kiss me again and it only makes the next round more urgent. I return the favour with the same attention, taking my time, learning the exact pressure that makes his breath hitch and his fingers tighten in my hair. There is something properly satisfying about watching a man who looks that composed come undone because of something I am doing. It is fun. It is happy. It is the best kind of off-the-wall chaos after a day spent being the responsible one.

And then there are the nights when curiosity stretches further. When the trust is thick enough that I can ask for more and he answers without hesitation. Anal starts slow, always. Plenty of patience, plenty of care, the kind of preparation that feels almost luxurious. The stretch, the fullness, the way every movement echoes deeper than I expect. It is intense in the best way, a different kind of heat that leaves me breathless and laughing at how good it feels when done right. He checks in with quiet words and steady hands, and that mix of control and tenderness is exactly what keeps me coming back for more. Afterwards I am boneless, glowing, and already plotting the next time.

But the part that stays with me longest is never the peak itself. It is what comes after. When the energy softens and those same strong hands turn gentle again. He pulls me close so my head rests on his chest and the steady beat of his heart becomes the only soundtrack I need. Fingers trail lazy patterns along my spine. Then, without being asked, he reaches for my feet. A proper massage, thumbs working into the arches that have been standing in work shoes all day, slow circles that make me melt into the mattress and hum with pure contentment. It is ridiculous how much I love it. The contrast is everything. Rough passion that leaves me marked in the best way, followed by this quiet care that says I am safe and wanted for more than just the heat.

I have had my share of random sparks. Nights that start with a smile in a bar and end with tangled sheets and a shared taxi in the morning. They are fun. They keep the edges soft while I wait for the real thing. My friends get the edited highlights after a couple of drinks, the bits that make us all giggle and shake our heads at how predictable men can be and how unpredictable the chemistry still is. I stay single on purpose these days. Easier that way. No half-hearted relationships that fizzle because someone cannot match the fire or the softness. I know what I want. Tall, dark-haired, handsome enough that I still catch myself staring, strong enough to throw me about when the mood strikes, and tender enough to follow it with cuddles and those foot massages that feel like a quiet promise.

Some people would call it greedy. I call it knowing my own mind. After a day spent being the strict one, the numbers person, the supervisor who never lets standards slip, I come home and let the other side breathe. The cute side. The sweet side that still believes the right pair of hands is out there somewhere, ready to hold me through the rough and the soft alike. I do not need to shout about it. I just know. And on the nights when the craving sits warm under my skin I let myself imagine every detail until the longing turns into a slow, happy smile. Tomorrow I will put the stern face back on and herd the team through another set of targets. Tonight I get to keep the dream. Strong hands. Soft touches. The perfect mix that makes everything else melt away completely. And honestly, if that is not worth staying hopeful for, I do not know what is.

I’m Dingo, 31, Basildon born, Hackney based, and I still go home for Sunday roast when I can get away with it. By day I supervise a team at a bank in the city, all stern face and sharp edges. Off the clock I’m the opposite, a bit sweary, a bit soft, and far too honest once I’ve had a drink and a story worth telling.
